Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation (BDHF) was founded in 2011. Our focus was always indigent children who fell through the cracks.
In 2021 we began a program which provides specialised wheelchairs (buggies) to children who live with the debilitating effects of cerebral palsy, all of whom live in deep rural communities within South Africa. Many are hidden from neighbours, cared for by loving mothers and grandmothers.
Without this program over 1000 indigent children would still be holding out the hope of a call one day to say their buggy has arrived. BDHF gave each child a new or reconditioned custom fitted buggy and showed the therapists in those rural hospitals how to renovate, repair and recycle it.
We can’t do this without you.
Be the chariot that not only carries a very disabled child through life but is a lifeline for the family as well.
Be the difference between them merely surviving and truly living.
