Since 2017 Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation has been assisting learners to attend (as well as stay in) school with numerous handouts: sanitary pads, shoes, socks, school uniform items and stationery. This assistance soon evolved into informal extra maths lessons. In 2019 we began a collaboration with Singapore Maths SA
Thirty young people from the rural villages surrounding Mtunzini in KwaZulu Natal entered an upskilling program which Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation sponsored in 2021. The program taught them how to farm vegetables and grow their own crops. Rural young people have a life of limited opportunities, mundanity and despair. A
